Located very close to Yaletown
Salsa & Agave provide excellent variety of Mexican food
in very modern and clean environment
It was around 6 30 on thursday when I visited this place
but it was already quite full with a lot of hungry people
craving some good mexican food
it is located on your right when you walk down from the yaletown skytrain station
the bright neon green sign is pretty hard to miss!!
I love how they seem to have their unique style
Interior is not very big
about ~10 tables that can accommodate 2~4 people
but the tables can be put together for larger groups
however, the space is not quite big enough to hold big gatherings so keep this in mind
table is not that big
just enough to fit two dishes
the menu is coordinated with their logo as well
very neat!
the menu is quite nicely organized
has most of all well known mexican food
the price range seemed acceptable to me
bit higher than common fast food mexican but not as high some other mexican places I have been to
as soon as we were seated,
the server brought us some tortillas and salsa
it did not seem like they made their own tortillas
it was bit stale but still crunch and salsa was runny
but it was really good thing to feed on to tame my hungry stomach
what is mexican food without burritos!!
this is shrimp burrito which is served with their green salsa and sour cream
I was bit afraid that the green thing would be guacamole
(for I hate avocado in anything)
but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't
I loved how light and refreshing it tasted
Sour cream was more runnier that ones you will find in store
and tasted quite creamy but not too overpowering
the shrimp burrito was quite big and heavy
and was quite full half way through
the shrimp was small in size but plentiful in amount
everything tasted fresh
the rice is flaky and nicely cooked
and all the ingredients blended well together
overall it was quite heart burrito!!
this is the tortillas that accompanied the carne tampiquena
it was bit small but soft wand quite warm
very strong in corn-like flavour
carne tampiquena
is mexican seasoned grilled top sirloin (top) served with green tomatillo sauce chickeb enchiladas (bottom)
raja corm crema (centre), rice(right), beans(left) and 4 tortillas
enchiladas were okay
it tasted good in the beginning
but everything else taste exceptional
that if you leave it till later,
the sirloin was quite mystery to us
because when we tried to eat it by itself
it was hard to chew and swallow ,
and impossible to bite off
but when you make little burrito
as below,
it tasted so soft and tender
that amazed both of us!!
the perfect way to devour this plate is
lon a warm tortilla,
place piece of sirloin
and hefty amount of beans
add raja corn crema
add as much rice as you want
and wrap it so that it would fit into your mouth without exploding!
I just fell in love with this place
the staff are very nice and attentive
and I love how everything is served clean
and tastes fresh!
I just love love love this place
and will go back for more of their delicous mexican food!!
it is just heavenly!
