Old Spaghetti Factory (Langley) - I am never to visit this place again

As a person who loves to eat 
but is limited to how much her stomach can take on
as well as daily calorie intake,
I get quite upset when the food I am eating does not taste good
especially when I have to pay for them.

I visited Old Spaghetti Factory because it was close to the movie theatre
and my previous experience at the other ones were okay.
I knew I was guaranteed certain standard but boy was I wrong 
for this place was one of the most horrible experience I had recently.

It might be due to wrong menu choice, but still, it was utterly despicable 
and for a large franchise like this, I did not know how they survived so long 
while serving menu like this!! 

their menu is quite thin, newspaper like paper 
and has list of almost all italian american favourites
their lunch special seemed like a pretty good deal but we were there for dinner
 

since our ultimate goal of the day was to watch a movie
(thank god the movie was good or else I would have been very upset)
we got a meal and a movie deal 
which is you get a choice of spaghetti, and a movie ticket for $19.95 
so technically you were getting a movie ticket for ~$8 
depending on your pasta choice the price may go up 
so we chose pretty basic spaghetti menu
thinking well this is a spaghetti factory so they must make good spaghetti
but... hmm I will talk more later on 

their place mats had little history of the tradition
but I did not read them thoroughly
partially because some of the cutlery was not very clean..
after the we got them replaced,
some were still not clean.
I should have known better to walk out then...  

salad was included in the meal 
you can choose between soup or salad and you can choose you dressing
above is thousand island and sesame below
nothing special about them 
they taste exactly like salad premixes you get them at grocery store + bottled dressings
leaves were not very fresh nor crisp 

I love the house bread anywhere I go 
so this was I think the most delicious part of the meal 
which is quite sad.. 
the herb butter taste better with the bread
but our server almost forgot them 
so we had to ask for it after our pasta came 

Spaghetti with browned butter and Mizithria cheese a la Homer
this put us at utter shock  
I was expecting something like spaghetti topped with cheese sauce 
but this was just shredded cheese on top of it
although the cheese was nice 
it was what it was.
and the pasta was bland and just not worth the price tag.
But I do have to admit, the pasta itself was cooked nicely 

This was Managers Special which you can chose two of the spaghetti sauce
I chose spicy meat,, and mushroom 
it looked better than the above 
but the taste was not..
It tasted like cafeteria served pasta 
except the quality of the pasta itself was good 
the sauce was miserable the very very bland 

Ice cream was also part of the meal 
but it was very skimpy in portion 
and tasted like regular ice cream
I think tea or coffee was suppose to be served with the meal as well
but the server did not mention them as well 
and we were almost getting close to our movie time 
so we just left 

the bill was quite hefty for the quality of the meal 
but since we were getting two movie tickets, I took comfort in that
considering each ticket was worth $12.50 
I guess it was fair
but I will not visit this place ever again 
for I am a firm believer that if you can not get basics right
then other menus are not worth trying 

The ambiance and space is great
nicely decorated and large enough to accommodate large groups as well 
but with food and service like that, 
it is not worth making a visit 
for any occasion.
