Korean Style Chinese Restaurant located in surrey Guildford area
it has been my frequent stop for JJa jang myun
but the taste seems to fluctuated time to time

basic condiments in korean style chinese restaurant is
vinegar and soy sauce (for deep fried items)
and pepper powder

menu on the wall but all in korean

just realized that I have rarely seen

pictures of few menu items on the wall

basic sides dishes are kimchi and pickled radish
raw onion and black bean paste for the onion

deep fried dumpling
crispy and chewy dough filled with meat (half beef/half pork?) and chives
juicy and extremely hot filling so caution before you stuff it into your mouth

cubed sweet and sour pork
(tang soo yuk)
compared to regular tang soo yuk
the pork is cut it to small bite size pieces
the batter is crispy but chewy since it is cornstarch heavy  batter
sauce is thick and more sweet than sour
if you like the crispy texture better
ask them to serve the sauce on the side

I actually prefer it being cubed for it creates more even batter around the meat
and easier to eat them

noodles with black bean sauce
(Jja Jang Myun)
as soon as it lands on your table,
you have to mix it quickly

like this to prevent noodles from sticking to each other
today the noodles were well done
and the sauce was not too salty but full in flavour
but due to nature of the sauce, all the veggies are overcooked
if you like the crisp and tender veggies sauce
ask for noodles with stir fried black bean sauce or (Gan Jja jang)

this place is quite popular amongst the people of the neighbourhood
and is quite packed if you go during the meal times
the owners are friendly although if it gets too packed
it is hard to get their attention
price is reasonable but better to use the combo or set menus
because they are better deal
